News and Updates

Yes, yes. It’s been a minute. Life got loud. But I’m back, and there’s a lot going on—some of it even includes plane food.

In April, I had the honor of being a featured speaker at the Hawaii State Department of Education’s SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE SCHOOLS: Child Safety Conference 2025.

What’s better than a room full of educators committed to protecting kids? A room full of educators in Hawaii committed to protecting kids.

I spoke about how Parent/Educator Partnerships can actually work (yes, really), and gave a deep dive into the civil window legislation that helped brave survivors expose abuse at Kamehameha Schools, Damien High, the Diocese of Honolulu, and the Ram “family.” Bottom line: Hawaii DOE is not messing around when it comes to prevention education—and it shows.

In May, I spoke on a panel at UC Riverside’s Surviving the Law: Legal Advocacy for Survivors and Scholars conference, hosted by the Religion and Sexual Abuse Project. I wish I could’ve cloned myself to attend every session. The people? Brilliant. The energy? Electric. The mission? Crystal clear.

And now we’re heading into August, where things are full steam ahead:

  • I’m teaming up with Zero Abuse Project as they roll out their new K–12 sexual abuse prevention curriculum. It’s in the final stages of study, and we’re this close to being able to say those magic words: evidence-based. Get ready to hear more soon—this one’s a game changer.
  • Then I’m off to Indianapolis (yes, in August humidity—pray for me) to lead a training with Ministry Defender Solutions. We’ll be working with faith-based leaders who are stepping up to do the hard, holy work of prevention and survivor support. It’s honest, gritty, necessary stuff—and I’m here for it.

There’s more in the works (there always is), but that’s the latest. Thanks for sticking with me—even during the quiet stretches. More soon. Stay loud.
