MORTAL SINS West Coast Book Tour

Michael D’Antonio, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and author of the new blockbuster Mortal Sins: Sex, Crime, and the Era of Catholic Scandal will be visiting the west coast for book signings and lecture events.

He and a panel of experts, including Patrick Wall, Jeff Anderson*, Richard Sipe*, Irwin Zalkin*,and local survivors will discuss the history of the crisis in the United States, what is happening right now, and pivotal next steps for the movement to prevent and expose sex abuse and cover-up in the church.

Two dates have been announced:

June 27 – Fullerton, California as a part of Gustavo’s Awesome Lecture Series

June 30 – Seattle, Washington at Town Hall Seattle

We are working on dates and locations in San Diego, Santa Barbara, and the Bay Area.

  1. Well, we are gearing up here in Seattle for Michael. I cannot think but how ironic it will be to have this exposure of the sins of priests right next door to the Catholic Archdioceses of Seattle. I worked there at one time and was trapped in its secrets and shame and didn’t know it. Now, I am free to shed light on this very dark piece of Catholic Church history and protect children while doing it. Hope to see you at Town Hall, Seattle, Sunday, June 30th at 7:30 pm.

  2. I’m reading Mortal Sins right now, about 170 pages into it. Excellent! It’s especially good because it creates a historical timeline, connecting dot to dot to dot and providing *context*. I just read where Mahoney said some nice things at a bishop’s conference in 1992 or 1993 (book gives the year, but my memory is foggy — sorry!), which he has proven has all been lies from his mouth. Not everyone believed him then, and they were right not to!
